A new online news platform, Uganda Wired, has officially gone live under the Bukoto Journalists Association (BUJA), a registered community-based organization. The platform aims to provide credible, community-centered journalism that informs, educates, and empowers citizens across Uganda.
According to BUJA Team Leader, the initiative was born out of the need to give visibility to stories that often go unheard, especially from rural districts. “Our goal is to tell Uganda’s story from the ground up. We will focus on truth, accountability, and public interest,” he said.
Uganda Wired will use the multimedia approach to cover politics, education, environment, land, extractives, oil and gas, human rights, and more. The platform also plans to publish in-depth investigative reports and opinion pieces to strengthen civic dialogue and transparency.
The site will serve as a training and publishing hub for young journalists under BUJA, promoting ethical reporting and data-driven storytelling.
As Uganda Wired begins operations, the team pledges to uphold professional standards and remain a trusted voice in the digital news space.
