Verdict: False
A social media claim suggests that the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) recycled a past Economics paper for this year’s Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams.
The claim arose after Economics Paper 2 was mistakenly printed with the year 2024 instead of 2025. The misprint triggered public criticism and online debate, with some users alleging that the board had reused last year’s paper.
Official clarification: UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule confirmed that the paper was entirely new. Uganda Wired’s thorough physical checks have confirmed that the paper is new and unique to the 2025 UACE examination cycle.
The error was limited to the year printed on the document, and the questions were not recycled from 2024.
The claim that UNEB reused a past Economics paper is therefore false.
