A sombre mood is reigning in Luwero as residents and leaders mourn the loss of
Resident District Commissioner Richard Bwabye Ntulume.
Bwabye died on Friday evening at Mulago National Referral hospital after suffering illness for months .
Abdul Mazinga the Luwero District Communication Officer released an official statement on Saturday confirming the death of RDC Bwabye .
”With deep sorrow and profound sadness, the Luwero District Local Government announces the passing of Mr. Bwabye Ntululme, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Luwero District.” Mazinga said
Mazinga said that Bwabye Ntululme served the people of Luwero with unwavering dedication, integrity, and an outstanding commitment to the development .
” His life was one of service, leadership, and a genuine passion for building a better Luwero for all. We extend heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, friends, all residents of Luwero District, our implementing partners, and the nation at large during this difficult time ” Mazinga added
According to the LC Chairman of Luwero district Erastus Kibirango ,the dead body of Bwabye will arrive at his home located at Kikubajinja zone in Luwero on Saturday evening .
” On Sunday ,the body will arrive at the district council hall where councillors will eulogize and pay their last respects to our great friend . Bwabye will be buried on Monday at Kagugo village in Luwero sub county ” Kibirango said
Kibirango said that although Bwabye was a NRM cadre , he treated everybody with respect irrespective of the political affiliation and strive for unity .
” Unlike many RDCs and the current Deputy Luwero RDC , Bwabye served with professionalism and never divided people on political lines . Right now the current Deputy RDC donning NRM shirts has came out in full force to fight me and others . Bwabye wasn’t such a calibre ” Kibirango said
The death of Bwabye has shocked many residents and leaders. As a result many have taken to social media to express their shock over his death and celebrate his good deeds .
The Luwero District Kadhi Sheikh Ramadhan Mulindwa released a statement mourning a loss of the man whom he said he was a dedicated and hardworking leader.
”Mr. Bwabye Richard was a dedicated servant of our nation—supportive, principled, and unwavering in his commitment to the development and success of Luwero. He stood as a unifying figure who brought together people of different backgrounds, always advocating for peace, cooperation, and progress. His leadership, humility, and passion for service will remain etched in our memories and in the history of Luwero District.” Kadhi Mulindwa said
Daniel Kyaterekera the Luwero District Secretary for Education said that Bwabye was a humble servant .
”The truth is we have lost our gallant son of luwero, who served us without pride,but respectful to everyone,may God strengthen the bereaved family. ” Kyaterekera said
Currently Preparations spearheaded by Rosemary Namayanja the Deputy Secretary General of National Resistance Movement to ensure that Bwabye gets a benefitting burial for his significant contribution to the party , government and Luwero.
Bwabye served as Youths leader and councillor for Luwero sub county before he was appointed the Deputy Resident Commissioner.
He later served as a Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Kira, Rubaga , Mukono and Lwengo before he was promoted and transferred to his home district where he served till he breathed his last on Friday .
