ENTEBBE — The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) has attained ISO 9001:2015 certification, a quality management standard that sets requirements for organisations to improve the consistency of their products and services.
The certification, attained on September 14, 2026, confirms that UPPC’s quality management system meets internationally recognised requirements for quality management and continuous improvement.
UPPC Managing Director Prof. Sudi Nangoli said the certification would help the Corporation strengthen its operations and compete for business beyond Uganda.
“This certification demonstrates that UPPC is operating in accordance to internationally recognised quality standards. It strengthens confidence in our services and positions us to compete more effectively for opportunities both at home and in the international market,” Nangoli said.
The certification comes as UPPC seeks to modernise its operations and improve the delivery of printing and publishing services to government institutions and other clients.
Director of Business Development Rebecca Nyakairu said the certification followed efforts to improve the Corporation’s internal processes and accountability.
“ISO certification is ultimately about the customer. We have strengthened our processes to deliver greater consistency, efficiency and accountability, while creating a culture of continuous improvement across UPPC,” Nyakairu said.
UPPC is Uganda’s official government publisher and is responsible for publishing and disseminating government information, including the Uganda Gazette and laws and legislation.
The Corporation also provides commercial printing and publishing services to public and private-sector clients.
UPPC is a government-owned public enterprise established in 1992 under the UPPC Act, Cap 215, to provide printing and publishing services.
The Corporation traces its origins to the Government Printer established under the British colonial administration in 1902.
