Police in Luwero District have launched investigations into a suspected arson attack that left the home of popular TikToker Mzee Aggrey Magala Balikyewunya severely damaged.
The fire broke out at approximately 3:26 a.m. on November 8, 2026, at Bunyaka Village in Luwero District, destroying property inside the house and causing extensive damage to its roof.

According to Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson Sam Twiineamazima, the Luwero Fire and Rescue Brigade responded to the scene shortly after receiving information about the incident.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the house still engulfed in flames and immediately launched firefighting operations, successfully containing the blaze before it could spread to neighbouring houses.
Twiineamazima said the fire caused severe damage to the roof, while all property inside the house was completely destroyed.
”The preliminary cause of the fire is suspected to be arson. Investigations are still ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident,” Twiineamazima said.
At the time of the incident, the house owner, Aggrey Magala Balikyewunya, was on remand at Butuntumula Government Prison, where he is being held until November 12, 2026, in connection with a criminal case involving allegations of attempted murder.
Police have since deployed an investigation team to establish the circumstances surrounding the fire and determine whether the incident was deliberately set.
”The investigation team remains on the ground conducting further inquiries, and more details will be provided as inquiries progress,” Twiineamazima added.
Police have not yet identified any suspects or made public further details regarding the alleged arson as investigations continue.
