The Clerk to Parliament to Parliament Adolf Kasaija Mwesige has released the official programme for Swearing In of Newly elected Members of Parliament.
The Electoral Commission successfully conducted the Parliamentary Elections on January 15th this year . The Commission has also conducted elections for MPs with Special Interest Groups .
Now the Clerk to Parliament has issued notice indicating that he will administer the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Member of Parliament to each person elected as a Member of Parliament starting from 13th – 15th May 2026 at Parliament.
The notice also indicate that on Wednesday 15th May starting at 8:00am, the clerk will administer the oaths to MP Elects in alphabetic order from MP Aayoo Joyce Makamoe to Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda.
On the same day at 2pm, the MPs elects from Hon. Babula Noel Kataike Matilda to Hon. Kanaabi Jimmy will take oaths.
On Thursday, the notice indicate that MP Elects Kangwagye Stephen Rwakanuma to Hon. Nambeshe John Baptist will take oaths .
On Friday the last batch of MPs to take oaths include Hon.Nambooze Teddy to Zawedde Victorious the Nakasongola District Woman MP.
The exercise will run from 8:00am to 6;30pm each day with a break at 1:30-2pm.
According to the notice, each Member-elect of Parliament shall be accompanied by three people and MP Elect with disabilities shall be granted one additional person as an aide.
”Each Member-elect of Parliament is requested to follow the schedule above and advised to keep time.” The Clerk said in the notice
Each Member-elect of Parliament has also been requested to collect his/her invitation card, programme booklet and biodata form from the Office of the Clerk on Monday 04th- Tuesday 5th May 2026 between 9.00am and 5.00pm.
The MP Elects have been asked to return filled-in biodata forms to Room 112, First Floor, South Wing or hand them in at the Registration Desk on the day of swearing-in.
