Police in Kabalagala have launched investigations into the suspected murder of Afrigo Band musician Moses Matovu, who was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants in Kampala.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, officers at Kabalagala Police Station have registered a case of suspected murder involving Matovu Moses, a musician with the legendary Afrigo Band.
Matovu was allegedly attacked on Thursday morning by unknown assailants in Kibuli Market Zone B, Makindye Division, Kampala District.
Preliminary information indicates that Matovu had just returned from performing at a show in Kampala and was reportedly on his way to a mosque for morning prayers when he was attacked.
Kawala said Matovu was rushed to Kibuli Hospital for medical attention but later succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack.
“Our task team is currently at the scene conducting investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Efforts are also underway to identify and apprehend the suspected assailants,” Kawala said.
Police have urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
Matovu will be laid to rest today at Kyanja.

He appealled to joint security agencies to do everything possible to identify, apprehend and bring to justice those responsible for this heinous act.
