The Command the Future Conference officially commenced on Wednesday, November 12, at Miracle Center Cathedral, Kampala, under the leadership of Pastors Robert and Jessica Kayanja.
Organized in partnership with the National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches, the event attracted hundreds of church leaders, members, and community participants eager to deepen their understanding of personal, spiritual, and ministerial growth.
Bishop Richard Mugongo, the National Public Relations Officer of the Fellowship, welcomed attendees, describing the gathering as “a divinely orchestrated moment that opens a new chapter for the church.”
He emphasized the significance of the partnership with Dr. Paula White and her ministry team, noting that their teachings would equip believers with knowledge and tools to “command their future.”
“Correct information leads to sound decisions,” Bishop Mugongo said. “God will use this season and these anointed teachers to bring transformation to Uganda’s church.”
Among the keynote speakers was Pastor Chris Haften, an architect and minister from Florida, USA, who delivered a powerful session on vision and wisdom. Drawing parallels between architectural design and life planning, he underscored the importance of establishing a strong foundation in God.
Quoting Proverbs 9:10 — “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” — Pastor Haften urged believers to write down their vision and pursue it with clarity and discipline. He referenced Exodus 25–31, explaining how God’s detailed instructions for building the Ark of the Covenant serve as a model for strategic planning in both life and ministry.
Another highlight of the conference was a message from Major General (Rtd) Daniel York, a retired U.S. Army officer, pastor, and author. Speaking on identity and purpose, he drew from his military and pastoral experience to encourage believers to live with integrity and intentionality.
“We are predestined to be conformed to the image of God’s Son,” he said, citing Genesis 1:26–27 and Romans 8:29. “Understanding your identity in God is essential for a life of fulfillment and impact.”
Participants described the conference as motivating, practical, and spiritually enriching, noting that the teachings offered valuable insights on vision, planning, and purpose.
