Police in Luwero district has launched investigations into sudden death of William Ntege the Chairperson of Luweero Town Council Butchers’ Association.
Ntege aged 56 years a butcher and resident of Kasoma Zone in Luwero town died at around 11pm on 10th March this year. Ntege allegedly collapsed and died while in his bedroom at home.
Sam Twiineamazima the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson said that the deceased was found lying on his back on the bed with blood oozing from the nose.
Upon getting the report,Policemen from Luwero Central Police Station rushed to the scene and transferred the dead body to Luwero hospital mortuary for postmortem.
The Police also recorded statements from relatives and collected exhibits including blood samples for analysis.
The relatives told the Policemen that the deceased suffered from hypertension and ulcers.
“Investigations into his death are still ongoing, with exhibits submitted for forensic analysis and the postmortem report awaited. We urge anyone with additional information to contact Luwero Police Station to help in the investigations” Twiineamazima said
Luwero ranked second in the country for homicides in 2023 (90 cases) and retained this position in 2024 after registering 86 homicide cases.
