President Yoweri Museveni has officially been sworn in as President of Uganda for the 2026–2031 term.

‎The swearing-in ceremony took place at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, with President Museveni taking the oath at around 11:50 a.m. The event was presided over by Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija.

‎Earlier, Electoral Commission Chairperson Simon Byabakama announced the official results of the January 15, 2026 presidential election, declaring Museveni the winner before inviting the Chief Justice to oversee the inauguration ceremony.

‎

‎Holding the Bible, President Museveni first took the oath of allegiance and was later handed the Constitution of Uganda along with the instruments of power.

‎

‎Following the oath-taking ceremony, the President inspected the parade before returning to his seat.

‎

‎By press time, President Museveni had not yet addressed the nation as the parade continued marching off the grounds.
